6Cytoskeleton

Eukaryotic cells are filled with fibrous structures called cytoskeleton. Contrary to its name, however, the cytoskeleton is not constitutive or static like our bony skeleton. Rather, it is dynamic structure that performs its roles by frequently degrading and reorganizing themselves. In this chapter we study the molecular structure and the variety of roles of the cytoskeleton.
